Pre-purchase building inspections
Auckland building inspections

Thinking of buying? Get a building inspection before you commit.

Most of the problems that cost buyers thousands can't be seen at an open home: hidden moisture, rot, leaks and unconsented work. Once you go unconditional, they're yours. An experienced, independent inspector finds them first, so you can negotiate, walk away, or buy with confidence.

Why it should be independent

The agent's recommended inspector is often one they use all the time. Yours should only be working for you.

Every inspection is done by an experienced building inspector who knows how houses are put together, and knows the problems each decade of Auckland housing tends to have.

Questions

How much does an inspection cost?

It depends on the size and type of house. A standard house is usually around $500 to $600. Your inspector will give you an exact price when they call.

How fast can it be done?

Usually within a few working days, which fits inside most due diligence and building report conditions. Tell us your timeframe and the inspector will work to it.

Does filling this in commit me to anything?

No. It just gets an inspector to call you with a price. You decide from there.

Who will contact me?

Your details go to one local, independent inspector who covers the property's area. We don't sell your details to anyone else.
